The Artists

Aubrey Woods’ rise as a professional violinist vividly demonstrates the versatility that is the sine qua non for twenty-first century musicians. Her artistic leadership and excellence as concertmaster for Ballet West are consistently on display at the Capitol, Rose Wagner, and Eccles theatres in Salt Lake City. Aubrey’s performances as a chamber musician include appearances with NOVA, Intermezzo, the Park City Chamber Music Series and, on the Baroque violin, with New York Baroque Incorporated, the Sebastians, and Musica Angelica. Her playing has been described as having ‘shimmering beauty’ (reichelrecommends.com). When not performing or teaching, Aubrey finds joy in making sourdough bread and spending time with her husband, violinist and duo partner Alex Woods, and their four boys.

Alexander Woods is a ‘showstopping’ (New York Times) violinist, baroque violinist, and violist, known for his “deft, sensitive” (New York Times) playing and his “beautiful tone” (Early Music America Magazine). A dual Canadian/American citizen, Alex’s international career has led him to perform at the Mostly Mozart Festival, Lincoln Center Festival, Festival Pablo Casals, Darmstadt Institute, Festival Wien Modern and many others. A prolific and critically acclaimed recording artist, Alex’s work may be heard on the MSR Classics, Acis, Tzadik, Bridge, New Focus and Tantara record labels. When he is not performing or teaching, Alex loves being at home with his wife, violinist Aubrey Smith Woods, and their four boys.

Jack Tyndale-Biscoe’s unorthodox musical background spans three continents, two instruments and encompasses performances from Bach to Beach. Jack’s sold-out debut at the Royal Albert Hall (Elgar Room) in 2022, was hailed as demonstrating “true technical mastery” with “playing of masterly authority and control” (Keyboard Charitable Trust). As a soloist, Jack Tyndale-Biscoe has performed to much acclaim at some of the UK’s most prestigious classical music venues: Steinway Hall UK (Beethoven Society of Europe), Fairfield Halls (Yamaha Music), St James’s Piccadilly (Talent Unlimited UK) and the Jacqueline du Pré Concert Hall at the University of Oxford (MeloDictum), as well as internationally in cities across Australia, the USA, Germany, Spain and Italy.
