Tim Rumsey is a UK-based soloist, chamber musician, accompanist and teacher, having delighted audiences at venues including the V&A Museum, Wigmore Hall and at various festivals around the UK, with recent recitals in Cheltenham’s Pitville Pump Room and Chichester Cathedral. Tim has just recorded his debut album with Luminate Records, featuring a wide range of virtuosic piano transcriptions, due for release in Spring 2025.

As well as performing, Tim has an equal passion for composition, arrangement and jazz. Recent projects include arrangements of Gershwin, Purcell & Paul Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, in addition to Gershwin’s ‘An American in Paris’ for trio with violin and clarinet. Tim is an accomplished jazz pianist and regularly plays for events and functions in and around London, as well as incorporating jazz repertoire into his concert programmes.

Tim teaches at the Junior and Primary Departments of the Royal Academy of Music on Saturdays, as well as the prestigious St Catherine’s School in Bramley near Guildford. He graduated with an MA and DipABRSM award from the Academy in July 2023.
