Welcome to ‘Piano Month’ at St Bride’s – celebrating the acquisition of our new Steinberg Grand Piano.

The Artist

Pianist and composer, Zachary Davies is a first-class music graduate of King’s College London where he is also an associate. During his undergraduate degree, he studied piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music with Professor John Reid. He recently graduated with an MMus in Composition from King’s, where he studied with Edward Nesbitt and Thomas Hyde. He has also received mentoring from Samuel Andreyev.

Zachary has participated in lessons and masterclasses with pianists such as Charles Owen, David Syrus and Alexandra Dariescu, and is a long-term student of the Taubman Approach at the Golandsky Institute under the tutelage of Robert Durso. He has performed in St Bride’s Church and the Guildhall, as well as the Bull’s Head Jazz Room, Ronnie Scott’s and the Budapest Jazz Club.

As a composer, he writes regularly for soloists and ensembles. In 2020, he founded The Euterpean Podcast, a platform that has welcomed guests such as Flora Willson (The Guardian), John Gilhooly (Wigmore Hall) and Benjamin Zander. When not musicking, Zachary practises Shotokan Karate, in which he is a second-degree black belt.
