US friends Angelynne Caroline and Ed Hinson in front of the oak reredos at St Bride's

North American ties

It was a great pleasure to welcome Angelynne, Caroline and Ed Hinson back to St Bride’s last Sunday. The Hinsons are from New Hampshire and they consider St Bride’s their ‘parish’ church during their regular visits to the UK.

When back home, Angelynne and Ed wake up early to hear our pre-recorded Sunday online broadcasts. Angelynne can often be heard reading for us in those services and it was a delight to have her read in person in church on Sunday morning.

St Bride’s has historical connections with the United States and particularly the New England region. Our online worship has a growing congregation in North America and it is wonderful that those connections are still flourishing both virtually and in person.

Ed and Angelynne first came to St Bride’s on Mothering Sunday in 2000 when their daughter Caroline was only one year old. Time flies and we now offer congratulations to Caroline who has recently gained a First in Comparative Literature and International Relations from St Andrew’s University. It’s a busy time for Caroline who has also moved to London this weekend.

We hope the Hinsons enjoy their stay and we wish Caroline well as she settles into her newly adopted home town.
