St Bride's, Fleet Street is a warm and welcoming Christian community, and one of the most famous and most fascinating historic churches in Central London.

St Bride's is known worldwide as the Journalists' Church, offering a spiritual home to all who work in the media. However, our ministry extends to everyone who lives and works within our parish, and to the thousands of visitors who come to us every year. Our beautiful Wren church provides a place of peace and a spiritual haven in the heart of the city for all who come. With one of the best professional choirs in the country, we are also well known for the outstanding quality of our music and of the worship we offer.

A place of Christian worship for 1500 years, we continue to proclaim the love of God here. Whether journalist, tourist, City resident or worker, you will always be made welcome.
Alison Joyce, Rector of St Bride's

A Space For Silence

St Bride's church provides a space for silence every weekday evening between 5 and 6pm; a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of Fleet Street and the City of London.

You are welcome to join us and come and go as you please.

Commune with your own heart ... and be still (Psalm 4:4)

August 18

'No-one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.' (Luke 17:18)

Saying 'thank you' is one of the first things we are taught as children. But that isn't the same as being truly grateful. Archbishop William Temple wrote 'In most of us the spiritual life is impoverished because we give so little place to gratitude which is akin to love.'

In our entitlement culture we expect so much that we can easily lose the sense of gratitude. Perhaps we could recapture that by wondering at just how amazing are the things we take for granted every day - health, home, food, water, other people, etc.. G.K. Chesterton claimed that 'gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.'

Lord, forgive us when we take for granted the good things that surround us. Renew our sense of wonder at your gracious love that we may discover true happiness. Amen.
