Funeral: David Knowles

A funeral service for the life of journalist David Knowles will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 3rd October at 11:30am.

Knowles worked as a journalist at the Daily Mail before he joined the social media team of The Telegraph in 2020, soon rising to lead it before being promoted to head of audio development.

In 2024, he reported being proud to shrug off his management responsibilities with the title of senior audio journalist and presenter. He launched the award-winning Telegraph podcast, Ukraine: The Latest, which has had almost 100 million downloads. He was the anchor and “voice” of the podcast, travelling across Ukraine to record stories of the war-torn lives of ordinary people.

His sudden death aged 32 from a heart attack led to an outpouring of tributes and condolences online from colleagues, friends and those who listened to his work, mourning the loss of a brilliant journalist and a much-loved friend.
