JOURNALISTS COMMEMORATIVE SERVICE
This year's Journalists' Commemorative Service remembering those journalists, photographers, audiovisual-crew and support staff who have faced death, detention or danger bringing us the news will be held at St Bride’s Church, Fleet Street – the Journalists' Church – on Tuesday 10th November 2026 at 6:30pm.
This year's service is subtitled "Facts Under Fire" in recognition of the increasing number of conflict zones across the world from which journalists and crew report, the insidious spread of misinformation and erosion of factual knowledge and the growing exclusion of the press when it seeks to hold truth to power.

The service is open to all and free to attend; please .
Speakers & Music
The keynote speaker and readers will be announced shortly and are drawn from figures across the industry.
The service will be led by The Revd Canon Dr Alison Joyce, Rector of St Bride’s, with music performed by the renowned St Bride's Choir and organist.
Additional Information
The retiring collection will be shared between Reporters Without Borders – the global organisation which defends the freedom, pluralism and independence of journalism – and St Bride's Church – the Journalists' Church which supports and ministers to all connected with journalism, of all faiths and none.

Ministry to Journalism
Our ministry to journalism – to those of all faiths or none – is one of the most important and distinctive aspects of our life at St Bride’s. Indeed the church is widely known as the Journalists' Church because of its historic links to printing and the Press.
We hold this service of remembrance each Autumn. There is an archive of audio and transcripts from past services here.
A candle burns on our Journalists’ Altar to remember in prayer those working within the media who have died, been injured, held hostage, or whose fate is unknown.
