A service of thanksgiving for the life of editor and journalist David Gardner will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 1st December at 11:30am.
David began a 44-year career at the Financial Times in 1978 and was part of the team that launched the FT’s international edition.
Noted for his perceptiveness and courage, he spent five years reporting on political corruption and civil wars in Central America before becoming the FT Middle East editor in 1995.
Following spells as the paper’s Chief Leader Writer and Associate Editor, David became International Affairs Editor, writing predominantly on the Middle East, and found time to author a book Last Chance: The Middle East in the Balance.
