Memorial: Jean Morgan

A service of thanksgiving for the life of journalist Jean Morgan will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 4th May at 11:30am.
Jean Morgan was Chief Reporter at Press Gazette for 19 years until her retirement in 2003. She began her career in journalism as a trainee on the Bridgend Advertiser in 1954 and worked for a string of regional titles – Bedfordshire Times, Leicestershire Evening Mail and South Wales Echo – before moving to the London office of Thomson Regional Newspapers.
Morgan became an MBE for her services to journalism in 2002.
In later life, Jean was a Trustee of the Journalists’ Charity, helping to support journalists across the UK and Ireland.
