Memorial: Mel Lewis

A service of thanksgiving for the life of publisher Mel Lewis will take place at St Bride’s Church, on Thursday 17th November at 11:30am.

Lewis was the former owner and publisher of Puzzler Media, a stable of several titles including Puzzler magazine. He oversaw the sale of the company to Beano publisher D C Thomson in 2005 after its value was raised by the sudden success of its Sudoku puzzles.

After retirement, Mel became a Trustee of NewstrAid, the helping hand of the news trade, which has organised the Old Ben Carol Service at St Bride’s Church since 1993.
