A service of thanksgiving for the life of Melvyn Marckus, journalist and editor, will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 21st September at 11:30am.
Marckus was city editor at both the Observer, between 1982 and 1993, and at The Times, from 1993 to 1996, covering high-profile scandals such as those at Polly Peck and BCCI.
Marckus had previously worked on the Daily Mail and Sunday Telegraph and, after his two stints as city editor, became consultant to PR firm Luther Pendragon.
