Memorial: Nicholas Somers

A service of thanksgiving for the life of Nicholas Somers will take place at St Bride’s Church, on Thursday 13th February at 11:30am.

Nicholas Somers spent over 50 years in the Art and Antiques Industry, initially as an antiques dealer in Shropshire, moving to London to work for, amongst others, Sotheby’s, before setting up his own company in 1990.

Well-known in the auction world, Somers was also a forensic appraiser for art and antiques legal cases in the Law Courts.

In later life, Somers became actively involved in City and Livery life, becoming a Freeman of the City of London and Master of various Livery Companies, including the Worshipful Company of Turners from 2016-17.
