Reflection: Jackie Whitelaw

A Service of Reflection for Jackie Whitelaw, transport and infrastructure journalist, who died on 20th July 2021 will be held at St Bride’s Church at 11:30am on Thursday 18th November.

Jackie was deputy editor of New Civil Engineer magazine between 1998 and 2009 and, latterly, associate editor of Infrastructure Intelligence.

Among the many obituaries for Jackie, Ty Byrd at the New Civil Engineer described her as “highly intelligent” and “delightfully cunning”, quickly grasping complex issues and communicating them in illuminating ways; Ace note the high professional regard in which she was held and the fondness with which so many remember her; CIHT report the death of the former editor of their Transportation Professional journal with great sadness.
