Stationers’ Company Patronal Service

The Worshipful Company of Stationers’ annual Richard Johnson ‘Bubble’ Service will be held at St Bride’s Church on Tuesday 4th June at 11:30am.

Johnson requested in his Last Will & Testament that a yearly sermon entitled Vita Humana Bulla Est (Life is a Bubble) be preached. This year’s preacher is The Rt Revd Dr Stephen Platten, former Bishop of Wakefield. Bishop Platten is a former Master of the Stationers’ Company and was the first in its history to have attended Stationers’ Company’s School and the first clergyman.

The music at the Bubble Service, provided by our excellent choir, is always wonderful and features, amongst more sacred anthems, the popular ‘I’m forever blowing bubbles’ otherwise known as the Bubble Anthem!
