Step into the story: Queen Camilla opens our new Crypt timeline

Queen Camilla officially opened our remarkable newly updated exhibit in the Crypt last month – and it is already becoming a favourite with visitors.

Stretching an impressive 40 feet, the beautifully crafted timeline brings to life the extraordinary story of the St Bride’s site, from its Roman origins through to the present day.

What began as a simple idea sketched out on the back of an unwanted roll of wallpaper in the rectory has grown into something exceptional.

Over many months, the Rector, our Head Verger and others worked with Spy Studio – the London design practice behind our branding – to transform that humble idea into a stunning centrepiece for our Crypt museum.

It’s engaging, surprising, and full of discoveries to be made.

If you haven’t seen it yet, do go downstairs and take a look – it’s a wonderful way to engage with the long, rich history of St Bride’s.

Entrance to the church and crypt is free and we are open most days of the year. Directions available on our Visit Us page and check the What’s On page for any closures.
