Over the past 38 years, the Galliard Trio has established a reputation for presenting programmes of great variety. The players were taught by some of the leading instrumentalists of the 60s and 70s - William Bennett, Janet Craxton and William Waterhouse. They came together to form the Trio when playing as principals in London's Salomon orchestra, under budding young conductors of the time such as Simon Rattle and Mark Elder.

The Trio's repertoire is wide, often adding harpsichord and bassoon to perform arrangements of music from the eighteenth as well as the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It performs regularly throughout southern England in churches, arts centres, country houses, schools, for music clubs and in support of good causes. Venues have included the National Trust's Stourmouth and Wimpole Hall, the Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge and St James's, Piccadilly. The Trio last played at St Bride's in November 2017. Some of the Trio's favourite pieces have been recorded on two CDs. These are on sale today.
