Hong Kong-born flautist and conductor Chun Yin Marco Leung is the recipient of the R C Lee Centenary Scholarship in 2017 and 2019. He has recently been awarded his Master of Music with Distinction at the Royal College of Music, London under the tutelage of Katie Bedford, Sue Thomas, Stewart McIlwham and Rachel Brown in flute, piccolo and baroque flute. He first started studying flute with Ivy Suet Wah Chuang at the age of 11 and was awarded first class honours for his BA in Music from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Since then, Marco has also received guidance with artists including Adam Walker, Emily Beynon, Juliet Hurrel, Paul Edmund-Davies, Johanna Dömötör, Henrik Wiese, Robert Winn and Philippe Pierlot.

As an orchestral player, Marco has performed as principal flute for orchestras in both Hong Kong and London. He made his concerto debut with Hong Kong Children's Symphony Orchestra at the age of 17. Marco has recently played in various RCM orchestras, Illyrian Ensemble and the University of London Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, Marco also works as an active orchestral conductor. He studied conducting with Ho Man Choi and has attended the RNCM Conducting Masterclass and WMC International Conducting Masterclass. In recent years, Marco has conducted Hong Kong Youth Windophilics, CUHK Student Orchestra and covered rehearsal for Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong.

In the past, Marco has performed diversified flute recitals at venues in London, Vienna, Netherlands, Belgium, Japan and Hong Kong. He collaborates frequently with other musicians in chamber concerts and works closely with the Arc and Giocoso Trio. Currently, Marco is pursuing his Artist Diploma study at the Royal College of Music with the generous support of R C Lee Centenary Scholarship. This season, Marco is performing recitals in the United Kingdom and Hong Kong featuring works by living composers.

He is studying for an Artist Diploma in Performance at the Royal College of Music under the tutelage of Sue Thomas, Katie Bedford and Emer McDonough. He was previously awarded his MMus with Distinction at RCM and BA in Music with First Class Honours at the Chinese University of Hong Kong where he studied with Ivy Chuang. Marco has held principal positions in several orchestras and collaborated with Chung Chi Orchestra as concerto soloist. Marco is also studying piccolo and baroque flute with Kathleen Stevenson and Rachel Brown respectively. In the past, Marco has performed in venues in London, Vienna, Netherlands, Belgium, Japan and Hong Kong.
