Memorial: Michael Mander

A service of thanksgiving for the life of Michael Mander will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 19th May at 11:30am.

Mander began his Fleet Street career on the Evening News in the late 1950s before joining Times Newspapers as advertising and marketing director in 1970.

After The Times and Sunday Times were sold to Rupert Murdoch in 1981, he moved to the Thomson magazine division and then became Chairman of the Institute of Directors.

Michael was a keen supporter of St Bride’s, as Trustee of the St Bride Worldwide Media Trust and, latterly, of St Bride’s Charity.
