A service of thanksgiving for the life of photojournalist Tom Stoddart will take place at St Bride’s Church, the Journalists’ Church, on Thursday 26th May at 12noon.
Stoddart was a photojournalist who captured images of catastrophes and humanitarian crises in a career lasting over 40 years.
He began his career with the Berwick Advertiser before moving to Fleet Street in 1978. Tom worked for the Sunday Times throughout the 1980s and covered the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Twin Towers attack as well as conflicts in Palestine, Lebanon, Bosnia and Iraq.
From the early 1990s, he shot photos in black and white, the form for which he became best known.
