As the church of the local, regional, national and international media, St Bride's has hosted a great many services commemorating and celebrating the lives of journalists, reporters, broadcasters, cameramen, editors and proprietors. But we also have a permanent memorial to all those who have died, gone missing or been kidnapped whilst striving to bring us the news. Our Journalists' Altar, in the north-east chapel of St Bride's, is a constant focal point for those across the globe who have put themselves in grave danger so that we can be informed of events and regimes that could otherwise go unscrutinised.
We also host thanksigivng services for those from local companies, the wider world of communication, and those with no specific attachment to St Bride's other than a love of its architecture, music and ambience.
