St Bride's: News

Lord Mayor's Show - Nov 8th

mayor.jpgOnce again, St Bride’s Church opened for the Lord Mayor’s Show – on Saturday November 8th. A large number of visitors came and enjoyed refreshments, which were available throughout the day – including drinks, sandwiches and cakes, at reasonable prices. The bookstall was open, where music recordings by the famous choir – compact discs and tapes - were on sale, as well Christmas cards and a variety of books and guides to the Church. Many visitors were attracted by the stalls selling home made toys, jams and chutneys, candles and second hand books, while others tried their luck at the tombola.

During the day, visitors were able to eat their lunch in various parts of the church, with live background music played on the grand piano. There was also the opportunity to look around many parts of this great Wren Church.

The proceeds from the day – which were in aid of St Bride’s Appeal - amounted to over £700.
