Fun-and-Finance Night for Christian Aid

sueperkins.jpgWE RAISED almost £650 from ticket sales and raffles during a quiz night on May 22nd as part of Christian Aid week. About 70 people attended QuizAid, and we were very lucky to have the comedian, broadcaster and writer Sue Perkins as our guest quiz master.

group.jpgMuch alcohol was consumed and all the teams assumed silly names, the funniest belonging to a team of Fleet Street veterans headed by William Greaves who called themselves Forgive Us Our Press Passes.

The eventual winners were the Kingsmill Gold Co-operative in a nail-biting tie-break between them, The Rectors' Dozen, and The Misfits.

A very merry time was had by all, helped along by the abstemious Ms Perkins, who only over-indulged in sugar-laden fizzy cola bottles.

This event marked the beginning of our relationship with Christian Aid, the charity which works with local organisations all over the world to deliver direct practical benefits, and campaigns to challenge the causes of poverty.
