Second Annual Christmas Card competition

In 2008, St Bride's ran its first Christmas Card competition. Last year's adult winner was Chris Cottrill, whose decorated St. Bride's spire sold like hot cakes; as did the winning entry from the children's competition designed by Aiofe Checkland.

This now annual competition invites all aspiring artists to design a card based on the theme "Why is Christmas and the Written Word special to me?".

For the children:
This year we would like to involve as many children as possible to design the Christmas card rather than making it a competition. It will be a collaborative effort during which we will teach the children the importance of recycling.

The adult competition:
You are invited to create artwork no bigger than A3 based on the theme "Why is Christmas and the Written Word special to me?". We hope the competition will encourage an understanding of the importance of the church and the written word in our everyday lives.

Designs should be submitted to or St. Bride's Church, Fleet Street, London EC4Y 8AU, by 19th October 2009.

The winning card will be professionally printed at A5 size and used as St. Bride's official Christmas card. The winner will receive twenty copies of the card to give to family and friends, and it will be published in the St. Bride's magazine.

Good luck to all of you - we look forward to seeing how creative you can be.
